Video work exploring the genomic relationship between humans and snakes in the context ecological conservation and anti-venom compounds.

JACK CORNEY - SANDOWN ZOO ISLE OF WIGHT

The installation offers a dramatic portrait of the late Jack Corney , an extraordinary world expert on snakes and owner of Sandown Zoo, a World Health Centre for Venom Collection on the Isle of Wight. The film follows his performative virtuoso skill in extracting venom from a dangerous hooded Cobra. Corney worked closely the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine supplying venom to the World Health Organisation used in production of anti-venom.
